Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has officially secured the Accord Party’s ticket to contest in the 2026 governorship election.

Adeleke emerged as the party’s candidate after winning the primary election with 145 votes. According to Abdulazeez Salaudeen, Secretary of the electoral committee, five votes were declared void. He confirmed that the voting process was observed by party agents and officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“The electoral committee has delivered on its mandate. After voting and counting, witnessed by the agents of the candidate and the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission. Having the highest number of votes, I declare Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the primary,” Salaudeen announced.

Earlier, the party’s screening committee had cleared Adeleke as the sole aspirant for the governorship ticket. This was confirmed in a statement by Mr. Ibe Thankgod, chairman of the screening committee and the party’s National Organising Secretary. He said all necessary documentation had been completed with the appropriate authorities.

With this development, Adeleke is set to represent the Accord Party in the upcoming 2026 Osun State governorship election.
