Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has revealed that he has tried to convince Super Eagles teammates Ademola Lookman and Raphael Onyedika to join him at the Turkish club, describing Galatasaray as “one of the best in the world.”

Osimhen disclosed that he spoke with Lookman before Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier, sharing his experiences at Galatasaray and highlighting the club’s environment and fan culture. “I told him everything about my experience at Galatasaray; how amazing the club and the fans are, and that when he comes here, he’ll feel right at home,” Osimhen said. He added that while he could provide guidance, the final decision rests with Lookman himself.

The striker also revealed he had a similar conversation with Onyedika during the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where Nigeria finished third. “He has so much quality. He’s very talented, and I await his response with his agent as well as his club,” Osimhen said.

However, any potential move for Onyedika faces hurdles, as Club Brugge reportedly remain unwilling to sell the 24-year-old midfielder this January. While a summer transfer could be possible, Brugge are holding firm unless an irresistible offer is made. Onyedika has been a key player since joining Brugge in 2022, making 165 appearances and contributing to Belgian league and cup titles after previously winning the Danish league and cup with FC Midtjylland.

Meanwhile, after AFCON, Osimhen’s Galatasaray played a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid in Turkey, Lookman assisted in Atalanta’s 3-2 defeat to Athletic Bilbao, and Onyedika’s Club Brugge defeated Kairat Almaty 4-1 away.
