International Air Transport Association (IATA) has officially admitted United Nigeria Airlines into the IATA Clearing House (ICH), marking a significant step in the airline’s integration into the global aviation financial ecosystem.

The airline joined the prestigious network of carriers on February 1 2026, enabling it to participate in secure and efficient interline financial settlements. Through ICH membership, United Nigeria Airlines can now process interline billings, including passenger and cargo transactions, via a centralized global settlement system.

In a statement, the airline’s management said, “This milestone enables United Nigeria Airlines to settle interline billings, including passenger and cargo transactions, through a secure and centralized global settlement system. This admission reinforces our commitment to international best practices and operational transparency.”

The statement also highlighted that ICH membership is part of a broader strategy to elish interline and codeshare partnerships with other airlines. “This development is central to our mission of flying to unite, expand connectivity and provide our passengers with world class service as we grow our regional and international footprints,” the airline added.

Industry observers note that this development strengthens United Nigeria Airlines’ credibility in global aviation and positions it for expanded regional and international operations while aligning with international standards.
