United States President Donald Trump has suggested that efforts to locate and seize Iran’s enriched uranium may be driven more by political optics than military necessity.

Speaking during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity from China, Trump said he would feel more comfortable if the uranium was recovered but admitted that the operation may be more about public perception than any immediate strategic value.

According to Trump, another option available to the United States would be to launch additional strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, although he insisted he preferred securing the uranium instead.

The remarks come amid growing tensions following renewed military actions involving Israel and Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently stated that the conflict would not be considered over until Iran’s sensitive nuclear materials were removed from the country.

Trump and Netanyahu previously coordinated s on Iran beginning February 28 as part of efforts to weaken Tehran’s nuclear programme. Last year Trump also ordered airstrikes on three major Iranian nuclear facilities following an earlier wave of Israeli s.

Despite repeatedly claiming the targeted nuclear sites were completely destroyed, questions remain over the actual status and location of Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile. International experts believe much of the material could be hidden deep underground, making recovery operations extremely difficult without detailed intelligence.

Iran has not publicly disclosed where its highly enriched uranium is currently stored. The country began increasing uranium enrichment levels after Trump withdrew the United States from the 2015 nuclear agreement negotiated under former President Barack Obama.

While the United States and Israel continue to accuse Iran of pursuing nuclear weapons capability, United Nations nuclear inspectors have not confirmed claims that Tehran is actively building an atomic .
