Global Leaders Condemn Lauching at White House Correspondents Dinner

World leaders have strongly condemned the lauuching incident at the White House Correspondents Dinner, describing it as a dangerous act of political violence while expressing relief that Donald Trump, his wife Melania Trump, and other attendees were unharmed.

The incident occurred at the Washington Hilton, where gunshots were reported in the lobby, prompting the swift evacuation of top officials, journalists, and guests. Authorities confirmed that a suspect, identified as 31 year old Cole Tomas Allen from California, had been arrested. Investigators say he was armed with multiple weapons and allegedly planned to target senior government figures.

According to officials, the suspect is facing serious charges, with more expected as investigations continue. The mayor of Washington DC, Muriel Bowser, described the er as a lone gunman who confronted security personnel inside the hotel. Authorities are still working to determine a clear motive.

The triggered widespread international reaction. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the incident, stressing that violence against democratic institutions and the press must never be tolerated. King Charles III also expressed relief that no lives were lost.

French President Emmanuel Macron called the unacceptable, while Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney emphasized that political violence has no place in democracy. Similar sentiments were echoed by leaders worldwide, including Narendra Modi, Anthony Albanese, and Ursula von der Leyen.

Other global figures, including Benjamin Netanyahu and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, also condemned the , warning against the dangers of political extremism and hatred.

The incident has raised fresh concerns about security at high profile political events, especially as it occurred just days before an expected state visit involving senior British royals. While swift action by security agencies prevented casualties, the event has intensified scrutiny of safety protocols and the broader climate of political tension.

Authorities say investigations are ongoing, with a focus on the suspect’s motives, planning, and possible security lapses at the venue.
