President Donald Trump has expressed confidence that the people of Iran could eventually rise up against their government following military strikes carried out by the United States and Israel, although he acknowledged that such a development may not happen immediately.

In an interview aired on Fox News Radio on Friday, Trump said that while a popular uprising is possible, it would be extremely difficult for civilians to challenge an elished government without access to weapons.

“I really think that’s a big hurdle to climb for people that don’t have weapons. I think it’s a very big hurdle,” Trump said during the interview.

The former US president added that despite the challenges faced by ordinary citizens, he believes that ce in Iran could eventually happen. However, he cautioned that such a development might take time rather than occurring immediately after the strikes.

“It’ll happen, but it probably will be, maybe not immediately,” Trump stated.

Trump’s comments come amid rising tensions in the Middle East following recent military actions involving the United States and Israel targeting Iranian related facilities and interests. The situation has drawn international attention, with concerns about the potential for further escalation in the region.

Observers say political ce in Iran would likely depend on a range of factors including domestic political dynamics, economic conditions, and the response of security forces within the country.

Iran has experienced waves of protests in recent years driven by economic hardship, political grievances, and social restrictions. However, analysts note that the Iranian government maintains strong security structures that make large scale political ce difficult without significant internal shifts.

Despite these challenges, Trump maintained that the Iranian people could ultimately seek a different leadership if conditions continue to deteriorate.
