Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Israel was responsible for the strike of a senior Hezbollah commander in Beirut, describing the operation as a targeted strike against an elite unit of the group.
In a video statement released by his office, Netanyahu said the commander of the Radwan Force, an elite wing of Hezbollah, was eliminated in the heart of Beirut. He added that Israel would continue to target anyone it considers a threat to its national security.
Netanyahu stated that “no terrorist is immune” and warned that individuals who pose threats to Israel would face consequences for their actions, reinforcing Israel’s position on continued military operations against Hezbollah-linked targets.

The statement comes amid heightened tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, with cross border strikes and retaliatory strike continuing in southern Lebanon and surrounding areas. The situation has raised concerns about further escalation in the region.

Military exces between Israeli forces and Hezbollah have intensified in recent weeks, with both sides reporting casualties and ongoing operations along the Israel Lebanon border.

The latest claim by Netanyahu is expected to further strain already fragile regional ility as international observers call for restraint and renewed diplomatic efforts to prevent wider conflict.
