Starlink Terminals Deactivated in Ukraine Reported by Kyiv

Kyiv authorities have announced that satellite internet terminals provided by Starlink and used by Russian forces in Ukraine have been deactivated, marking what Ukrainian officials described as a significant setback for Moscow’s battlefield communications. According to Ukrainian military sources, the terminals were used by Russian units to coordinate combat operations and maintain secure digital links on contested frontlines.

The deactivation, confirmed by Ukrainian officials, occurred amid heightened military activity and represents a tactical shift intended to disrupt command and control networks. Ukrainian authorities assert that this action has reduced the ability of Russian units to effectively conduct coordinated assaults and logistics transmissions.

International analysts emphasise that the use of commercial satellite systems in conflict zones raises broader concerns over dual use of civilian technology for military purposes. The development underscores continuing efforts to impede Russian operational capabilities while highlighting ongoing technological dimensions of the conflict in Eastern Europe.
