Samsung is set to unveil its latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, on July 9, 2025, during the highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event. This announcement aligns with Samsung’s tradition of releasing new foldable devices in early July.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to showcase significant design enhancements, including a slimmer profile and reduced weight. Reports suggest it will measure approximately 8.9 mm when closed and 4.2 mm when open, making it one of the thinnest foldable devices on the market. The device is anticipated to feature a 6.5-inch external display and an 8-inch internal Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen, both supporting a 120 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the Z Fold 7 is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, with configurations offering up to 16 GB of RAM and storage options up to 1 TB. The camera system is expected to include a 200 MP main sensor, complemented by a 12 MP ultra-wide lens and a 10 MP telephoto lens with 10x optical zoom. A 4,400 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support is also anticipated.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is set to receive notable upgrades, including a larger 6.85-inch foldable main display and a 4.1-inch cover screen, enhancing its usability. It is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, with configurations offering up to 12 GB of RAM and storage options up to 512 GB. The camera setup is likely to feature a 50 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10 MP front-facing camera. A 4,300 mAh battery with improved efficiency is also anticipated.

Both devices are expected to run on Samsung’s One UI 8.0, based on Android 16, offering a refined user experience with enhanced multitasking capabilities and AI-driven features.

In addition to the foldables, Samsung is likely to introduce new wearables, including the Galaxy Watch 8 series and the Galaxy Ring, a new smart wearable focused on health and wellness.

The Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event is scheduled to take place in Brooklyn, New York, and will be streamed live on Samsung’s official website, newsroom, and YouTube channel starting at 7:30 PM IST.

As the launch date approaches, anticipation is building for Samsung’s latest innovations in the foldable smartphone and wearable markets.
