Paris Saint Germain forward Ousmane Dembele is undergoing treatment for a right calf problem ahead of the club’s highly anticipated Champions League final against Arsenal later this month.

The French champions confirmed on Monday that Dembele experienced discomfort in his right calf during Sunday’s 2 1 Ligue 1 defeat to Paris FC and was substituted after just 30 minutes as a precautionary measure.

In an official statement, PSG revealed that the Ballon dOr winner will receive treatment over the next few days as the club monitors his condition closely before the final in Budapest on May 30.

Despite concerns over his fitness, Dembele did not appear seriously injured after the game. The 29 year old was seen leaving the stadium and boarding the team bus without any visible signs of pain or limping. PSG manager Luis Enrique also downplayed the severity of the issue, suggesting fatigue may have contributed to the discomfort.

Luis Enrique admitted that the end of the season has been physically demanding for the squad but stressed that the team now has two weeks to prepare for what he described as the biggest match in the club’s history.

Dembele has battled several fitness problems this season, particularly recurring thigh and calf injuries. His condition will be closely watched by PSG supporters hoping to see the former Barcelona winger available for the European final.

There was some positive news for PSG as defenders Achraf Hakimi, Willian Pacho, Nuno Mendes and goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier resumed individual training after recent injury concerns.

PSG recently secured their fifth consecutive Ligue 1 title and will now focus fully on retaining the Champions League trophy they won for the first time last season.
