President Tinubu Directs Armed Forces to Track Down ers in Niger State

In response to the recent on the Kasuwan Daji community in Niger State, which resulted in nearly 40 deaths and the abduction of women and children, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered top security officials to intensify their efforts to apprehend the ers.

This directive was specifically addressed to the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS).

President Tinubu underscored the urgency of swiftly capturing those responsible for the , emphasizing the need for justice. He also directed security agencies to prioritize the rescue of all abducted victims.

The assault is believed to have been perpetrated by terrorists fleeing from Sokoto and Zamfara states after a recent U.S. airstrike. These groups have posed ongoing threats to local communities, raising concerns about security in the region.

In his statement, President Tinubu condemned the violence and expressed condolences to the victims’ families and the Niger State government. He warned that anyone found supporting or harboring these terrorists would face prosecution.

To enhance security, he instructed a ramp-up of operations in vulnerable communities, especially those near forests known to harbor criminals. President Tinubu urged national unity in the face of this tragedy, cautioned against divisive rhetoric, and stressed the importance of solidarity to confront security challenges.

The Federal Government’s quick response reflects its commitment to ensuring the safety of all Nigerians, especially in areas afflicted by terrorism, aiming to dismantle terrorist networks and restore peace to affected communities.
