He singled out football as the sole unifying force, lamenting that even the Super Eagles’ lackluster performance has weakened this fragile bond.
He cautioned that an ethnic crisis looms if the government fails to act decisively. “Tribes dislike one another, and this threatens the unity of the nation,” he warned, adding that neither religion nor shared governance has succeeded in fostering harmony. He argued that the pervasive disunity would persist even if the Igbo ethnic group ascended to power, as the root causes remain unaddressed.
