The Nigeria Police Force in Nasarawa State has recovered a stolen DAF truck cabin and arrested two suspects following an intelligence led operation in Mararaba within Karu Local Government Area.

The suspects identified as Abdulrahaman Danjuma 31 of Mararaba and Saadu Umar 34 of Zone Four in the Federal Capital Territory were apprehended at the Tudun Wada area of Mararaba. During the operation officers recovered an unregistered white DAF truck cabin suspected to have been stolen.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer Superintendent Ramhan Nansel the operation was carried out in line with directives from the Commissioner of Police Shetima Jauro Mohammed to strengthen community based policing and curb criminal activities across the state.

Police said the vehicle was searched on February 28 2026 at about 1030 am leading to the recovery of two number plates DGA 118 XA and USS 168 XA.

According to the statement the suspects confessed during interrogation that they stole the trailer from Kogi State and transported it to Mararaba. They further admitted that the trailer body had been sold to an unidentified buyer through a proxy for four million naira.

The Commissioner of Police commended the operatives for their professionalism and swift response. He subsequently directed that the suspects along with the recovered exhibit be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The police authorities reaffirmed their commitment to tackling vehicle theft and other organized crimes in Nasarawa State. They also pledged to intensify efforts to track down other individuals linked to the theft and ensure they are brought to justice.
