PDP Relocates to Permanent Secretariat in Ajilosun Ahead of Ekiti Governorship Election

The Peoples Democratic Party has moved its operations to its permanent secretariat in the Ajilosun area of Ado-Ekiti following an alleged eviction from a rented office on Ikere-Ekiti Road. The landlord reportedly sealed off the rented premises without a court order, leaving party property inside, prompting the relocation.

Speaking to reporters, PDP state chairman Tunji Odeyemi condemned the eviction as improper and accused the landlord of supporting the ruling All Progressives Congress. He expressed confidence that the party remains capable of reclaiming power in the June 20 governorship election.

“For long, this place has belonged to the PDP. The structure was built through contributions from party faithful across Nigeria, yet we kept paying rent elsewhere,” Odeyemi said, adding that full mobilisation would commence once the party’s candidate is announced.

Director-General of the Oluyede Campaign Team, Ogundipe Komolafe, described the relocation as a historic moment, highlighting the secretariat as a rallying point for party members across the state’s 16 councils. He assured supporters that PDP remains a dominant political force in Ekiti and urged members to focus on winning the forthcoming governorship election despite political challenges.

The new secretariat, still partially under finishing work, is expected to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and serve as a symbol of PDP’s long-term presence in Ekiti State ahead of the polls.
