The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Abia State, Chijioke Chukwu, has cautioned party members that they will have themselves to blame if the party fails to secure victory in the 2027 general elections.

Chukwu issued the warning while addressing party faithful in Ikwuano Local Government Area, describing Abia as a “low ing fruit” that the APC can easily win if members remain united and committed to the party’s goals.

He emphasized that the party has already recorded what he described as an early success ahead of the elections, citing the peaceful conduct of its internal congresses. According to him, contrary to expectations of internal crises, the APC in the state has emerged stronger and more cohesive.

“If APC loses Abia in 2027, it is our own making because the state is a low ing fruit,” Chukwu stated.

The chairman also alleged that several individuals who played key roles in the emergence of the current governor, Alex Otti, have since joined the APC. He claimed that many of these figures have been sidelined by the present administration, creating an opportunity for the opposition party to strengthen its base.

Chukwu further criticized certain aspects of the state government, arguing that some officials lack a deep understanding of Abia’s political structure. He urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilization and expand their outreach ahead of the elections.

He also stressed the importance of aligning Abia State with the federal government led by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that such alignment could open the door to greater national opportunities and development benefits.

The APC chairman concluded by calling on members to seize the current momentum and work collectively toward achieving victory in 2027.
