In 2023, Spanish investments in Paraguay reached $674 million, highlighting the growing economic ties between the two nations. Sánchez praised the involvement of Spanish firms in key projects such as Routes 2 and 7 and expressed interest in future initiatives like the Asunción-Luque elevated highway.
Addressing the broader international trade landscape, Sánchez openly criticized President Trump’s protectionist stance, particularly the proposed tariffs on European Union goods. He argued that such measures are unjust and counterproductive, advocating for a collaborative approach to global challenges.
