Mutfwang Calls for Unity as Apostle Selman Donates Over ₦200 Million Relief to Plateau Victims

The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has called for collective responsibility in maintaining peace and unity across the state following recent violent s in some communities.

The governor made the appeal on Wednesday while receiving the founder of Eternity Network International, also known as Koinonia Global, Joshua Selman, during a courtesy visit to the Government House in Jos.

During the visit, Apostle Selman donated relief materials and cash worth over ₦200 million to support victims affected by the recent s, describing the intervention as part of efforts to bring comfort and hope to grieving families.

Governor Mutfwang expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a strong demonstration of solidarity with the government and people of Plateau State during a difficult period marked by insecurity and loss of lives.

He commended the cleric and members of his delegation for their support, noting that such gestures reinforce unity and shared humanity beyond religious and ethnic divisions.

The governor also acknowledged the support of national leaders and individuals who have extended condolences, including President Bola Tinubu, saying such solidarity has strengthened the resolve of affected communities.

Mutfwang stressed that the government had reached out to both Christian and Muslim families affected by the violence, emphasizing that Plateau belongs to all residents regardless of religious background.

He assured citizens that security measures were being strengthened to prevent further s, while urging residents to remain hopeful despite the challenges.

The governor also called on indigenes of Plateau State living within and outside the country to contribute to the development and ility of their homeland, describing the state as a shared responsibility.

Apostle Selman, in his remarks, expressed sympathy with victims and described Plateau as a land of great potential and resilient people, despite years of recurring violence.

He said the visit was aimed at identifying with affected communities and encouraging hope, while urging leaders and citizens not to give up in the face of hardship.

As part of his intervention, Selman announced the donation of relief materials including thousands of bags of rice and other essential items valued at over ₦100 million, alongside additional financial support for victims.

He said the items would be distributed in collaboration with state authorities and the Christian Association of Nigeria to ensure proper delivery to affected communities.

The cleric emphasized the importance of collective action in addressing insecurity, noting that sustainable peace requires cooperation between government, religious leaders, and citizens.
