The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has confirmed that missing NYSC member and lawyer Linda Ameh has been found safe in Abuja after days of uncertainty surrounding her disappearance.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, Linda Ameh personally reported to the Maitama Police Station after she was found. The police stated that investigations are still ongoing to identify and arrest those connected to her disappearance which was first reported on May 6, 2026.

The Command explained that Linda Ameh is currently assisting investigators with important information that could help security operatives track down the suspects and uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Before her release, reports indicated that suspected kidnappers had contacted her family and demanded a ransom of N20 million. However, authorities have not confirmed whether any payment was made before she regained freedom.

Linda Ameh was said to have disappeared shortly after leaving her workplace, Blades and Butchers Ltd in Maitama, Abuja. She had recently started working as a Sales Manager and was nearing the completion of her National Youth Service Corps programme, including her Community Development Service activities.

Family members reportedly became worried after her phone lines suddenly became unreachable while she was on her way home to Life Camp. The incident triggered concern among colleagues, friends, and fellow corps members, leading to calls for urgent intervention from security agencies.

The FCT Police Command assured residents that efforts are ongoing to ensure everyone involved in the case is brought to justice while maintaining public safety across Abuja.
