Hundreds of supporters of the January 26 national holiday gathered in Queensland on Republic Day to participate in the March for Australia rally, organizers and participants said today. The event brought together community members, flag bearers and supporters of the holiday to celebrate national heritage, unity and cultural pride.

The march drew a diverse crowd, with families students and veterans among those waving Australian flags and carrying signs promoting unity and shared values. Speakers from civic groups addressed the gathering highlighting the importance of national identity and the historic significance of January 26.

Local police reported that the event remained peaceful and well organized with traffic management in place along the main rally route. Organizers thanked participants for turning out and emphasized the positive and festive spirit of the event.

While some related protests earlier in the day focused on issues of inclusion and historical recognition, the March for Australia rally remained focused on celebration and community solidarity. Rally leaders said they plan future events to promote engagement and dialogue around national holidays and cultural heritage.
