Linda Ejiofor has opened up about a challenging phase in her acting career, revealing that she once believed her progress in Nollywood had stalled before experiencing a major breakthrough that led to her recent success at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards AMVCA.
Speaking in an interview on Nolywire, conducted by her husband Ibrahim Suleiman, the actress shared that she went through a period of doubt where she felt her career was no longer advancing.
She explained that during that time, she turned to faith, asking for a turnaround in her professional life.
“Three years ago, I thought my career was stagnant and not going anywhere, and I asked God for soing, anything. And He gave me two beautiful stories,” she said.
Ejiofor also credited her husband for supporting her emotionally during that difficult period, noting that he consistently encouraged her even when she struggled to believe in her own performances.
Her moment of breakthrough came at the 2026 AMVCA, where she achieved a rare double win, taking home Best Lead Actress for The Serpent’s Gift and Best Supporting Actress for The Herd on the same night.
The achievement has been widely celebrated within the Nigerian film industry, with many describing it as one of the most remarkable highlights of the ceremony and a defining moment in her career.
Her success has further cemented her position as one of Nollywood’s most respected and versatile performers.
