Nigerian Grammy award winning artist Burna Boy is set to join Colombian pop superstar Shakira on the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup titled “Dai Dai.”
The announcement was made by Shakira on social media where she confirmed that the song will be released on May 14. She shared that the project was recorded at Maracana Stadium and described the upcoming release as part of the official soundtrack for the global football tournament.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by Canada Mexico and United States with the competition scheduled to run from June 11 to July 19.
Burna Boy’s involvement marks another major international collaboration for the Nigerian star and continues a growing trend of Afrobeats representation on global football stages.
It is also the second consecutive World Cup edition featuring a Nigerian artist on the official soundtrack. At the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar singer Davido featured on the official song “Hayya Hayya Better Together.”
The collaboration between Burna Boy and Shakira has already generated excitement among fans globally as anticipation builds for the tournament and its official musical identity.
