The Labour Party has announced that its membership revalidation will run from December 17 2025 to January 20 2026.

The party said the drive aims to grow its roll by an extra 10 million people across the country and urged members to take part.

Ife Salako the Interim National Publicity Secretary said in a weekend statement that on December 5 2025 the party sent INEC the lists of State Working Committee members for 32 states and the FCT. He added that the lists for Ondo Ekiti Niger and Kwara states are being finalised and will be sent to INEC soon.

The party asked members in those four states to be patient while local issues with party leaders are resolved quickly.

As part of its plan for the 2027 elections the Labour Party has set up a National Steering Committee for Membership Revalidation and New Registration.

This committee will also manage the national launch of the party’s membership drive codenamed Labour Party Connect 10 Million Nigerians. According to labour party, this initiative is expected to connect 10 Million Patriots for a New Nigeria.

  • Im not convinced revalidating membership in just one month is fair. What about those who cant meet the deadline?

  • Im skeptical about the timing of this revalidation process. Are they trying to weed out certain members before the next election?

  • I dont understand why we need revalidation. Seems like unnecessary bureaucracy. Anyone else feel the same?

  • This revalidation process seems like a good step towards party accountability. Lets hope it leads to a stronger, more united Labour Party!
