The government of Indonesia reported continued advancement in the development of its planned new capital city, Nusantara, located in East Kalimantan. Authorities overseeing the project stated that construction of key administrative facilities and supporting infrastructure is progressing in line with national development objectives aimed at reducing long term pressures on Jakarta.

Officials explained that the relocation initiative seeks to promote balanced economic growth across the archipelago while addressing environmental and population challenges facing the current capital. Infrastructure projects underway include government office complexes, transportation networks and essential public services designed to support phased relocation of civil servants and state institutions.

Senior government representatives reaffirmed strong political backing for the project, emphasizing its strategic significance for national planning and regional investment. Authorities noted that domestic and international investors have shown sustained interest in participating in infrastructure and urban development components of Nusantara. Environmental planning measures are also being integrated to ensure sustainable land management and protection of surrounding ecosystems.

Policy analysts acknowledge that the scale of the relocation presents logistical and financial challenges. However, Indonesian officials maintain that careful implementation and transparent governance mechanisms will ensure long term viability. The capital relocation remains a central pillar of Indonesia’s broader modernization strategy and its ambition to strengthen economic resilience and administrative efficiency.
