Imo State Police Foil on Njaba Divisional Police Headquarters

On Sunday, the Police Command in Imo State successfully thwarted an on the Njaba Local Government Area Divisional Police headquarters located in Umuakah. The thwarted assault underscores the ongoing security challenges in the region and the vigilance of the police force in maintaining law and order.

According to a statement released on Monday by ASP Henry Okoye, the command’s spokesperson, the was carried out by hoodlums arriving in three Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs). The assailants launched a violent offensive, utilizing sporadic gunfire in their attempt to breach the police headquarters.

The prompt and decisive response by the police was instrumental in preventing the ers from achieving their objectives. During the defensive operation, three of the hoodlums were neutralized, effectively thwarting the planned assault. The police’s quick reaction not only safeguarded the premises but also ensured the safety of personnel stationed at the headquarters.

ASP Okoye highlighted that the er’s use of SUVs and heavy gunfire indicates a well-coordinated and potentially premeditated effort to undermine the security infrastructure in the area. Despite the aggressive approach of the ers, the Imo State Police Command’s effective response prevented any casualties among police officers and maintained the integrity of the police station.
