Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti and British Nigerian singer Sade Adu have been inducted into the 2026 class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, marking a major milestone for African and diaspora representation in global music.
The announcement, made on April 13, 2026, confirmed that both icons will be officially honoured at an induction ceremony scheduled for November 14, 2026, in Los Angeles, with a broadcast expected later in December.
Sade Adu was inducted in the Performer category, joining global stars such as Phil Collins, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan. Her recognition highlights decades of influence through her unique fusion of soul, jazz, and R&B, which has earned her worldwide acclaim.
