Enugu Air, operated by XEJET, has announced the arrival of its newest aircraft, the Embraer 195, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance safe, reliable and efficient air travel services.

In a statement signed by the Chief Executive Officer of XEJET, Mr Emmanuel Iza, the airline expressed appreciation to the Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah, for his continued support and vision for aviation development. According to the airline, the governor commitment has played a key role in strengthening regional connectivity and stimulating economic growth across the state and beyond.

The addition of the Embraer 195 marks another milestone in Enugu Air fleet expansion strategy. The aircraft, known for its efficiency and passenger comfort, is expected to boost seat capacity and improve service delivery on key domestic routes. The airline also hinted at the introduction of additional services in the coming weeks as it consolidates its presence in Nigeria aviation market.

Enugu Air is owned by the Enugu State Government and was officially launched in July 2025 as part of broader plans to improve regional air connectivity and promote local aviation development. The carrier is based at Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.

At launch, Enugu Air commenced operations with three Embraer 170 aircraft, each with a seating capacity of about 76 passengers. The airline currently operates through a partnership with XEJET, which holds the necessary regulatory approvals to operate flights on its behalf while Enugu Air finalises its own Air Operator Certificate.

Under the arrangement, XEJET manages scheduled domestic operations and ticketing services for the state owned carrier.
