Rano Air Suspends Some Flight Routes Over Rising Aviation Fuel Costs

Rano Air has temporarily suspended some of its flight routes following the sharp increase in the price of Jet A1 aviation fuel in Nigeria. The airline announced that the rising operational costs have made it difficult to sustain some of its services, forcing management to take urgent measures to protect the company’s operations.

In a statement released by the airline, Rano Air explained that the cost of aviation fuel has increased by more than 300 percent, creating serious financial pressure across the aviation industry. According to the airline, the situation has made several routes commercially unsustainable and difficult to maintain efficiently.

The management stated that the decision to suspend certain routes was not taken lightly, stressing that it was necessary to ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable flight operations for passengers. The airline also apologized to customers and business partners for the inconvenience caused by the temporary suspension.

Rano Air assured passengers who already booked flights on the affected routes that the company would provide support regarding refunds, rescheduling, and rerouting options. The airline added that its customer service team is available to assist affected travelers and provide guidance on alternative arrangements.

The development highlights the growing challenges facing Nigerian airlines as fuel prices continue to rise. Aviation operators have repeatedly expressed concerns over the increasing cost of Jet A1 fuel, warning that it continues to threaten the survival of many local carriers.

Industry observers believe that if fuel prices remain high, more airlines may be forced to reduce operations, increase ticket fares, or suspend routes in order to cope with the financial burden. Passengers are therefore advised to stay updated on flight schedules and communicate with airlines regarding any travel ces.
