ValueJet has announced plans to enhance domestic air connectivity across Nigeria with the introduction of a new Lagos–Benin City route scheduled to commence on May 18.

The Managing Director and Accountable Officer of the airline, Omololu Majekodunmi, said the new route is part of ValueJet’s broader strategy to improve safe, reliable, and customer friendly air travel between major Nigerian cities.

He explained that the addition of Benin City to the airline’s network reflects its commitment to expanding access to efficient transportation options for both business and leisure travellers.

According to him, the Lagos–Benin service will provide a faster and more comfortable alternative to road travel, particularly for passengers who frequently move between the two cities for commercial and personal reasons.

Majekodunmi noted that ValueJet remains focused on strengthening domestic connectivity while also expanding its footprint across strategic destinations in Nigeria and the West African region.

He said the airline’s ongoing expansion is aimed at linking key commercial hubs and improving overall mobility within the country through seamless air transport services.

The airline currently operates domestic flights connecting Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Owerri, Calabar, Kano, Jos, and Gateway International Airport in Ogun State.

ValueJet also operates regional international services to destinations including Cotonou, Accra, Malabo, and Banjul, as part of its growing West African network.

Majekodunmi said the airline’s vision is to continue expanding its reach while maintaining high safety standards and delivering improved customer experience.

He reaffirmed that the new route is another step in the airline’s mission to make air travel more accessible and efficient for Nigerians across different regions.
