Lagos socialite and businessman Emeka Okonkwo has fulfilled his promise to gift comedian Carter Efe N50 million following his emphatic victory over singer Portable at the “Chaos in the Ring 4” celebrity boxing event held in Lagos.
The event took place at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, where Carter Efe defeated Portable by unanimous decision in a bout that lived up to its hype. The win came after weeks of heated exces between both entertainers, turning the fight into one of the most talked about celebrity showdowns in Nigeria’s entertainment scene.
E-Money confirmed the cash reward publicly after being prompted by organisers of the event, stating that he always honours his commitments. His announcement drew loud applause from spectators and added to the excitement surrounding the night.
The boxing event, promoted by Balmoral Group Promotions CEO Ezekiel Adamu, featured several competitive fights, including title bouts that crowned new champions in African boxing divisions.
In the main celebrity fight, Carter Efe controlled proceedings from the opening bell. Despite Portable’s aggressive and unorthodox style, Efe maintained composure, landing cleaner and more effective punches throughout the three rounds. The judges scored the bout 27 to 30 in favour of Carter Efe, confirming a clear and decisive win.
Portable, who had previously gained attention from exhibition victories over entertainers such as Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington, was unable to replicate his earlier success. His repeated wide punches and clinching tactics were effectively countered by Efe’s accuracy and discipline.
The victory earned Carter Efe not only bragging rights but also a significant financial reward from E-Money, further elevating the profile of celebrity boxing in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
The event also featured professional bouts, including a WBO Africa cruiserweight title fight where Godday Appah emerged champion after defeating Ezra Arenyeka by split decision.
