In a shocking development that has rocked the community of Maiduguri, Inspector Musa Isah, an administrative officer with the 74 Police Mobile Force in Damboa, was apprehended for the ual assault of a 14-year-old boy. The incident reportedly took place on the night of January 24th, 2025, in Isah’s residence at Block 42, within the Police College Barracks in Maiduguri, Borno State.

According to reports from SaharaReporters, the boy, identified pseudonymously as Adamu, was lured to Isah’s flat under deceitful pretenses. There, he was given a drink that made him feel weak, allowing Isah to overpower and sodomise him. The assault was discovered due to the boy’s screams, which alerted neighbors who then intervened, leading to Isah’s immediate detention at the Metro Divisional Police headquarters.

Further investigation into Isah’s past revealed that this was not his first offense. In 2022, he was similarly caught at Mopol 6 Barracks in Maiduguri. After that incident, he was transferred to Damboa, but managed to return to Maiduguri, where he allegedly continued his predatory behavior, using gifts like android phones and designer clothes to lure young boys. Despite his arrest, Isah reportedly remains confident, boasting of connections that could shield him from justice.

This case comes at a time when homouality is heavily criminalized in Nigeria, particularly under the Same Marriage (Prohibition) Act of 2013, and in Borno State, where Shari’a law applies, potentially facing severe penalties including death by stoning. The situation is further complicated by another recent report of a Nigerian Army lieutenant arrested for similar offenses within the military ranks in Borno State, highlighting a concerning pattern of abuse within security forces.

The police spokesperson, Nahum Daso, has not responded to inquiries regarding this case, leaving many questions unanswered about how such acts could persist within a law enforcement environment. This incident not only raises alarms about the safety of minors in supposed secure environments but also about the broader implications of corruption and abuse of power within Nigeria’s security apparatus.
