Delta APC Congratulates Okowa Dafinone Joel Onowakpo After Senatorial Primaries

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has congratulated Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Senator Ede Dafinone, and Senator Joel Onowakpo Thomas following their victories in the party’s senatorial primary elections held across the three senatorial districts in the state.

According to a statement issued by the Delta APC Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, the party described the primaries as peaceful, transparent, and in line with the Electoral Act 2026 as well as the party’s approved guidelines.

The statement noted that Okowa emerged winner in Delta North, Dafinone secured victory in Delta Central, while Joel Onowakpo Thomas won the Delta South senatorial primary.

The party praised aspirants, leaders, and members for their maturity and commitment throughout the exercise, stating that the results reflected the wishes of party members. APC further commended the National Assembly Primary Election Committee led by Rt Hon Eugene Odo and Barrister Musa Amagbor for properly conducting and officially declaring the outcomes of the primaries.

The party expressed satisfaction with the process, insisting that the exercise complied with all relevant electoral laws governing party primaries and candidate nominations. It added that the successful conduct of the elections demonstrated the party’s dedication to transparency, fairness, and internal democracy.

The APC also urged members and stakeholders to unite ahead of future elections, stressing that victory would require collective effort, sacrifice, and cooperation among party faithful.

In Delta Central, Senator Ede Dafinone recorded a major victory after defeating former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo Agege in a widely discussed contest. Meanwhile, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and Senator Joel Onowakpo Thomas also secured convincing victories in their respective districts.

The party encouraged members to participate peacefully in the remaining State House of Assembly direct primary elections.
