Cult Clash in Owo Claims Life of Notorious Member, Nasiru

A violent confrontation between two rival cult groups in Owo, Ondo State, resulted in the death of a young man named Nasiru on Sunday. This incident comes just a week after four individuals were ed in a similar cult-related conflict in the same town.

According to reports, two masked men, believed to be from a rival cult, tracked Nasiru to the LA Gbanasa area of Owo and shot him in the head. The assailants confirmed his death before fleeing the scene.

Funmi Odunlami, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the incident, identifying the deceased as a well-known cult member in the area. She noted that Nasiru, whose full name was Nasir Isiaka, aged 40, was already on the police wanted list for his involvement in numerous criminal acts, including:

Participation in the End SARS protest where he allegedly ed Uso Division, stealing an AK-47 rifle and a bulletproof vest from the police.
Involvement in the of another individual named Adedeji Rafiu, also known as P.A.

Odunlami stated, “The command can confirm the of one Nasir Isiaka aged 40 years, a notorious cultist who has been on the police wanted list. The police at A Division Owo today (Sunday) received a distress call that someone was shot at LA, Gbanasa Area of Owo by two masked men. On getting to the scene, the police discovered that the deceased was a cultist who participated in the End SARS Protest, ed Uso Division and stole an AK 47 and bullet proof vest belonging to the police. He also participated in the ing of one Adedeji Rafiu aka P.A. His remains have been deposited at the morgue.”

The police have launched an investigation into the of Nasiru, aiming to arrest those responsible for this latest act of violence.
