The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced that no fewer than 28 ships carrying petroleum products and other commodities are expected to arrive at Apapa, Tin Can Island, and Lekki Deep Sea Ports in Lagos between February 10 and 19, 2026.

According to the NPA’s latest shipping position report, 16 of the vessels will carry containers loaded with various goods, while the remaining 12 ships are transporting crude oil, petrol, bulk gypsum, bulk wheat, sel, blended stock, general cargoes, and bulk gas.

As of the report, 10 ships and tankers have already arrived at the ports and are waiting to berth. These vessels are carrying crude oil, bulk urea, sel, condensate, petrol, general cargoes, and containers. In addition, 15 ships are currently discharging their cargo, which includes general cargoes, bulk gypsum, containers, bulk fertilizer, bulk sugar, sel, and crude oil.

The anticipated arrival of these ships highlights the high level of activity at Lagos ports, which are key gateways for Nigeria’s import and export trade. The NPA continues to monitor port operations to ensure efficient unloading and processing of goods.

The shipping authority also emphasized the importance of timely berthing schedules to maintain the flow of essential commodities, including petroleum products, which are critical for domestic energy supply and industrial activities.

With increasing trade volumes, Lagos ports remain central to Nigeria’s economy, supporting both local markets and international trade partners. The Nigerian Ports Authority has reiterated its commitment to ensuring smooth operations and minimizing congestion as vessels continue to arrive and discharge their cargo.
