APC Says ADC’s Order to Peter Obi Shows Opposition Confusion

The Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress has criticised the African Democratic Congress after the ADC publicly urged Peter Obi to ‘make up his mind’ about running for president in 2027.

State APC spokesman Seye Oladejo issued the response on Tuesday. He said the ADC’s move reveals a party in disarray and lacking a clear plan for the country.

The APC accused the ADC of acting like a coalition set up without real democratic values, fairness or a future. In the statement, the party painted the scene as one of disorder inside the opposition.

“Nigeria woke up to yet another episode of opposition disarray and ideological bankruptcy as the African Democratic Congress publicly ordered Peter Obi to ‘make up his mind’ on his 2027 ambition, while simultaneously declaring that zoning is not on the table.

“This is not a strategy. This is confusion on steroids. A political party that cannot decide its soul, direction or destination now wants to decide the fate of Nigeria.

“What Nigerians are witnessing is not opposition politics, but a public quarrel inside a hollow coalition of contradictions,” the statement read.

Oladejo also criticised what he called mixed messages from the ADC. He said the party first rejected zoning and then shifted to issuing ultimatums to the same person it had once promoted as a key candidate.

The APC went further to claim the ADC was built around one person’s goal. It said the party’s recent comments showed that decisions on candidacy were made behind closed doors and other members were only added to give the impression of inclusion.

  • I find it amusing how parties call each other confused. Lets focus on policies, not name-calling. Politics is weird.

  • Isnt it ironic how APC calls ADC confused when they themselves seem lost in their own political strategies? Just saying…

  • I think its hilarious how political parties always call each other confused. Cant they come up with better insults?

  • Do you think the APCs criticism of ADCs order to Peter Obi is valid, or just a tactic to create confusion? Lets discuss!

  • I dont agree with APC calling ADC confused. Both parties have their own valid perspectives, lets not jump to conclusions.
