The Anambra State Police has assured residents and visitors of comprehensive security measures ahead of the second term inauguration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo on March 17, 2026.

Police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga stated on Saturday that the Command, working closely with other security agencies, has intensified security advocacy, public sensitisation, and operational patrols across the state to guarantee a peaceful and hitch free event.

Ikenga urged citizens, stakeholders, and visitors expected for the inauguration to remain law-abiding and cooperate fully with security personnel before, during, and after the ceremony.

“The Anambra State Police Command has today, March 14, 2026, intensified security measures across the state as preparations heighten for the second term inauguration of the State Government,” Ikenga said.

He highlighted that the Command recently received 100 well trained and equipped personnel from the Police College Oji River who had undergone armed and combat training. These officers will complement strategically deployed personnel at critical locations, enhance patrols, and strengthen intelligence gathering to maintain law and order throughout the inauguration period.

“The Command also urges residents, stakeholders, and visitors expected for the event to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security personnel as efforts are being made to guarantee the safety of all dignitaries and members of the public,” Ikenga added.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Anambra State Police Command to providing adequate security and ensuring that the inauguration ceremony is conducted in a peaceful and secure atmosphere.
