Adesanya Suffers Fourth Straight Defeat as Pyfer Claims TKO Victory

Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya suffered his fourth consecutive loss after being stopped by rising American contender Joe Pyfer in the main event of a UFC Fight Night on Sunday.

Pyfer delivered a career defining performance, securing a technical knockout at 4 minutes 18 seconds of the second round inside the Climate Pledge Arena. The victory marks a significant milestone for the American fighter, improving his record and boosting his standing in the middleweight division.

The bout began with Adesanya showing flashes of his trademark precision and movement, controlling the early exces with sharp striking in the opening round. However, Pyfer remained composed under pressure, gradually finding his rhythm and timing as the fight progressed.

In the second round, momentum shifted decisively in Pyfer’s favor. He pinned Adesanya against the fence with heavy strikes before executing a takedown. From there, Pyfer transitioned into a dominant full mount position and unleashed a series of powerful ground strikes that forced referee Herb Dean to stop the contest.

Speaking after the fight, Pyfer highlighted his relentless approach, stating that his mindset is built on constant pressure and aggression inside the octagon.

Despite the defeat, Adesanya remained resolute about his future, insisting he would continue competing and pushing forward in his career.

The loss raises fresh concerns about Adesanya’s position in the division he once dominated, as the 36 year old faces a challenging period in his professional journey. Meanwhile, Pyfer’s victory over a former champion is expected to elevate his profile and move him c to title contention in the UFC middleweight ranks.
