The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, has firmly rejected claims that the church is aligned with any political party, emphasizing that it remains open to Nigerians of all affiliations.

Speaking during the May Holy Ghost Service themed Excellent Counsel, Adeboye said assertions linking RCCG to the All Progressives Congress are baseless. According to him, the church reflects Nigeria’s diversity, with members and leaders from multiple political parties worshipping together in unity.

He explained that within RCCG, individuals from the Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party, APC, and All Progressives Grand Alliance coexist without political division. He stressed that this inclusiveness will continue as part of the church’s mission.

Adeboye made it clear that while politicians are welcome to attend services, the altar is not a stage for political speeches or endorsements. He noted that even when public officials are present, they are not invited forward to address the congregation, as the church’s primary responsibility is spiritual guidance and prayer.

On the future of Nigeria’s leadership, Adeboye offered a faith based perspective, stating that the outcome of the 2027 presidential election is already known to God, who determines leadership ahead of time. He urged Nigerians to focus on prayer and personal responsibility rather than political anxiety.

Addressing his past involvement in protests, he clarified that his actions were in obence to directives from the Christian Association of Nigeria, under whose authority he operates on national Christian matters.

Adeboye also reiterated that he does not claim to be the spiritual father of all Christians in Nigeria, limiting his role to RCCG leadership. He encouraged members to avoid political conflicts and refrain from criticizing fellow believers, assuring them of his support and protection.
