The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has described the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the “greatest threat” to democracy in Nigeria.

Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, made the statement during an interview on Friday.

He said, “APC today represents the greatest threat to Nigerian democracy. Recently, some people joined and started challenging this or that.

“They are asking INEC to deregister ADC on strange grounds. But we know where this is coming from. We know the people involved and who they work for.

“The APC has done everything to weaken opposition parties, including PDP, Labour Party, SDP, ADC, and others.

“If we are not careful and don’t build a strong alternative political platform, Nigeria is moving towards a one-party state, and that is exactly what this government is trying to do.”

  • Is one party rule really that bad? Maybe it would bring ility. Just playing devils advocate here, what do you think?

  • I disagree! APC may have flaws, but one party rule isnt necessarily bad. It can bring ility and efficiency.

  • I think its ridiculous to label APC as the biggest threat. Both parties have flaws. Lets focus on improving democracy as a whole.

  • I disagree, APC isnt the biggest threat; all parties should be scrutinized. One-party rule is never a good idea.

  • Is ADC exaggerating, or is APC truly a threat? One party rule sounds scary, but is it really a possibility?

  • Honestly, I think both parties have their flaws. Lets focus on holding all politicians accountable for the sake of democracy.

  • Interesting perspective, but could the ADC be exaggerating the threat of APC? One party rule seems unlikely in Nigerias diverse political landscape.
