WhatsApp Beta Introduces Redesigned Attachment Menu to Speed Up Media Sharing on Android

WhatsApp is enhancing its user experience by launching a redesigned attachment and sharing menu in its Android beta version, aimed at simplifying and speeding up media sharing.

Previously, users had to open specific options like the gallery to select photos or videos. The new update allows users to see recent photos and videos directly within the attachment menu, alongside shortcuts for Location, Contacts, and Events. This ce lets users quickly select and share recent media without opening the full gallery, making sharing faster and more efficient, especially for frequent sharers.

The update also improves decision-making by showing recent images immediately, allowing users to quickly choose whether to share an existing photo or take a new one, reducing unnecessary navigation.

Despite the streamlined process, WhatsApp keeps its existing media editing features. When a photo or video is selected, users are taken to the editing screen to add drawings, stickers, text, or filters before sending, ensuring full control over customization.

Additionally, the option previously labeled “Documents” in the attachment menu has been renamed to “Files,” reflecting a broader range of shareable content beyond just document formats.

Currently, this redesigned sharing menu is in an experimental phase and available only to a limited group of Android beta testers. Meta/WhatsApp is rolling out these ces quickly, suggesting wider availability soon as testing and feedback continue.
