The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has reported significant damage to the protective shield at Ukraine’s Chornobyl nuclear plant, which was intended to contain radioactive materials from the 1986 disaster.

A subsequent restoration of a 750 kV line reelished le power supply, with radiation levels also remaining normal during the incident. The IAEA attributed the power outage to widespread military activity affecting Ukraine’s electricity grid, which led other nuclear facilities to reduce their output.
