United States President Donald Trump has described the fragile ceasefire between the US and Iran as being on “massive life support” amid growing tensions and failed negotiations between both sides.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Trump said the ceasefire had only a very slim chance of surviving after reviewing Iran’s latest response to a proposed peace agreement. According to him, the situation has become extremely fragile as both countries continue to disagree on the terms needed to end the conflict permanently.

“The ceasefire is on massive life support, where the doctor walks in and says, Sir, your loved one has approximately a one percent chance of living,” Trump said while addressing journalists at the White House.

Reports indicate that Iran rejected parts of a US backed proposal and demanded broader concessions, including sanctions relief, compensation for war related damages, and guarantees involving regional conflicts. Trump reportedly dismissed the proposal as unacceptable, further deepening uncertainty over ongoing peace efforts.

The conflict between the US and Iran has continued to disrupt ility in the Middle East and affect global trade routes, especially around the Strait of Hormuz. Diplomatic efforts involving mediators have so far failed to secure a lasting agreement between both countries.

Despite the tense situation, negotiations are still expected to continue as international observers closely monitor developments. Analysts fear that any collapse of the ceasefire could trigger renewed military confrontation and further inility across the region.
