Samsung has officially started rolling out its One UI 8.5 update to more Galaxy smartphones and tablets, beginning in South Korea on May 6, 2026. The software update introduces several advanced Galaxy AI features that were previously available only on the Galaxy S26 lineup.

The rollout initially covers the Galaxy S25 series and Samsung foldable devices, with wider availability expected across Europe, Asia, North America, and other global regions throughout May and June. Built on Android 16, One UI 8.5 serves as Samsung’s major mid cycle software refresh ahead of the anticipated One UI 9 release later in 2026.

Samsung said the update focuses heavily on Galaxy AI integration, ecosystem connectivity, communication improvements, and creative features across supported devices. The software upgrade will be available for several premium and mid range Galaxy smartphones, foldables, and tablets.

Among the flagship devices expected to receive the update are the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25 Plus, Galaxy S25, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S22 series, and Galaxy S21 FE. Samsung is also extending support to foldable devices including the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Z Fold5, and older foldable models.

Selected Galaxy A series phones such as the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55, Galaxy A54, Galaxy A35, Galaxy A25, and Galaxy A15 are also included in the rollout plan. Samsung’s Galaxy M series devices including the Galaxy M56, Galaxy M55, Galaxy M34, and Galaxy M15 are expected to receive the update as well.

Users can manually check for the One UI 8.5 update by opening Settings, selecting Software Update, and tapping Download and Install. Samsung advised users to connect to Wi Fi before downloading because the update size could exceed 4GB on some devices.

The rollout reflects Samsung’s continued focus on long term software support and artificial intelligence powered mobile experiences across its Galaxy ecosystem.
