Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has called on authorities to empower Nigerians to defend themselves in the face of worsening insecurity across the country.

The actress made the statement in a post shared on her social media page on Tuesday, where she expressed concern over repeated s, ings, and the growing fear experienced by citizens in different parts of Nigeria.

Reacting to the situation, Kadiri said, “Give us power to defend ourselves,” stressing that many Nigerians currently feel helpless as insecurity continues to threaten lives and property.

She noted that citizens deserve stronger protection and practical solutions from the government, adding that safety should be treated as a fundamental right rather than a privilege.

Her statement has since generated widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing similar concerns about the rising level of insecurity and calling for urgent government intervention.
