The Raiders struggled offensively throughout the game, with Smith’s performance heavily hindered by the Browns’ defense. He was sacked 10 times one of the highest totals in team history and the team averaged a mere 2.5 yards per carry. A late 5-yard touchdown pass to rookie running back Ashton Jeanty was their only scoring highlight, as Jeanty managed only 50 rushing yards on 17 carries.
In light of these offensive failures, the Raiders made a notable coaching ce, firing offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Head coach Pete Carroll cited the need for improved offensive success following Kelly’s underwhelming performance metrics across multiple categories. Moving forward, the Raiders will need to address their inefficiencies, while the Browns, now 3-8, will seek to build on their recent victory.
