NDLEA Thwarts Major and Cannabis Export Attempts Across Nigeria

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA have intercepted multiple drug trafficking attempts across Nigeria, including a scheme by convicted drug kingpin Olashupo Michael Oladimeji to export 1.10 kilograms of hidden in Garri to London from Murtala Muhammed International Airport MMIA, Lagos. Oladimeji, currently serving a five-year jail term for a prior case, orchestrated the attempt from prison through his company, Dimeji Express Logistics. Staff member Adedeji Yusuf Gbolahan was arrested while presenting the consignment.

In separate operations, NDLEA arrested China-based Nigerian businessman Ibeanu Vincent Chukwudulue and two Angolans, Mbandu Martins Makiadi and Ngoma Wilson Fernando, for ingesting and attempting to export a total of 3.0 kilograms of via Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano.

Additional seizures included 1.70 kilograms of skunk concealed in jerry cans, 59.2 grams of Canadian Loud cannabis hidden in a toy guitar, 13.2 kilograms of synthetic cannabis Colos, amphetamine, and over 105,000 tramadol pills. Notably, a raid in Edo State recovered 563.5 kilograms of skunk from five suspects.

NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa Rtd commended the officers for their professionalism and urged continued efforts in both drug supply and demand reduction initiatives. The agency also maintained its War Against Drug Abuse WADA sensitization programs in schools, workplaces, and communities nationwide.
