The Foreign Minister of Iran has departed Tehran to participate in a second round of indirect negotiations with representatives of the United States in Geneva, signaling continued diplomatic engagement despite persistent tensions. Iranian state media reported that discussions will focus on nuclear commitments, sanctions relief, and mechanisms to reduce regional inility.

Various officials in Tehran emphasized that the talks are being conducted through intermediaries, with each side communicating positions separately. The Foreign Ministry stated that Iran seeks tangible economic guarantees before considering adjustments to its nuclear activities. Authorities also reiterated that any agreement must respect national sovereignty and long term development objectives.

United States officials have indicated that their delegation remains prepared to explore confidence building measures, provided there is verifiable progress on nuclear transparency. European facilitators are coordinating logistics and maintaining communication channels to prevent misunderstandings.

Analysts observe that the renewed engagement follows months of strained rhetoric and limited contact. Regional governments are closely monitoring the outcome, as broader security dynamics in the Middle East remain extremely fragile.

Diplomatic sources described the atmosphere as serious but cautious, noting that significant gaps remain between the two sides. Nevertheless, both delegations appear committed to maintaining dialogue in pursuit of de escalation.
