Gaza Nasser Hospital Condemns Suspension of Most Services Amid Ongoing Conflict

Administrators at Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza have condemned the suspension of most medical services as fighting continues across the territory. Hospital officials stated that severe shortages of fuel, medical supplies, and personnel have forced the facility to limit operations to emergency care only.

Medical staff reported that power interruptions and damage to nearby infrastructure have made it increasingly difficult to maintain life saving equipment. Patients requiring specialized treatment, including dialysis and complex surgeries, have faced delays or transfers under hazardous conditions. Health workers described the situation as critical and appealed to international agencies for urgent assistance.

Humanitarian organizations operating in Gaza warned that the broader health system is under immense strain. Several clinics have closed or reduced capacity due to security risks and depleted resources. Aid agencies called for secure corridors to deliver medical supplies and evacuate the most vulnerable patients.

Israeli authorities have maintained that military operations target armed groups and not civilian infrastructure, while Palestinian officials accuse Israeli forces of exacerbating a humanitarian crisis. The United Nations and regional mediators continue efforts to secure pauses in hostilities to allow relief efforts to expand.

The suspension of services at one of Gaza’s largest hospitals underscores the deepening humanitarian emergency facing civilians amid the protracted conflict.
