Florentino Pérez has officially announced that he will contest again for the presidency of Real Madrid, dismissing speculation that he could step down following the club’s disappointing season.

Speaking during a press conference on Tuesday, the 79 year old football executive firmly declared that he had no intention of resigning despite mounting pressure from supporters and criticism over the club’s recent performances.

Perez made the announcement at the end of a difficult campaign in which Real Madrid failed to win a major trophy for the second consecutive season. The Spanish giants lost the La Liga title race to rivals FC Barcelona, who sealed back to back league titles after defeating Madrid 2 0 in the latest El Clasico encounter at Camp Nou.

The disappointment deepened after Real Madrid suffered an early UEFA Champions League exit following a quarter final defeat to FC Bayern Munich. The poor results have increased pressure on current coach Álvaro Arbeloa, who replaced Xabi Alonso earlier this year.

Reports suggest Arbeloa may not remain in charge next season, while former Real Madrid manager José Mourinho has been strongly linked with a sensational return to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Off the pitch, the club has also faced internal tensions and fan unrest. Supporters have reportedly criticized star forward Kylian Mbappé over what many perceive as a lack of commitment. There have also been reports of training ground confrontations involving several players, including midfielder Federico Valverde.

Despite the growing criticism, Perez remains determined to continue leading the club as he seeks another term as Real Madrid president while promising to restore ility and success to one of Europe’s biggest football clubs.
