A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja has fixed April 22 for the arraignment of Fabian Nwaora, the Chief Executive Officer of EFAB Properties Limited, over alleged forgery charges.

Justice Aliyu Shafa set the date after confirming that the defendant had been properly served with the charges filed against him. The case is being prosecuted following allegations brought forward by the Nigeria Police Force under the authority of the Inspector General of Police.

During the court session, prosecution counsel Wisdom Madaki informed the court that the defendant was absent despite being aware that the matter was scheduled for arraignment. In response, defence counsel Ezekiel Egbo explained that his client had travelled out of town before the legal documents were delivered to his office.

According to the charge, marked FHC HC CR 748 2025, Nwaora is facing a seven count charge bordering on forgery and fraudulent use of documents. The police alleged that he forged an international passport purportedly issued by the Nigeria Immigration Service in the name of Kenneth Chinedu Ogbogu.

Further allegations state that the defendant used the forged passport as genuine and also altered a certificate of incorporation belonging to Ke Keneco Investment Limited. The document was said to have been originally signed by a registrar general.

The prosecution also accused the estate developer of forging company letterhead documents and a National Identity Number said to have been issued by the National Identity Management Commission.

Authorities stated that the alleged offences violate provisions of the Penal Code relating to forgery and fraudulent misrepresentation. If proven, the charges carry significant legal consequences.

The upcoming arraignment is expected to formally begin the trial process, where the defendant will enter his plea before the court. The case has drawn attention due to the profile of the accused and the nature of the allegations involving official documents.
