Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has officially submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms to contest the 2027 presidential election under the platform of the African Democratic Congress. The development marks a major step in Atiku’s anticipated return to the presidential race as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum across the country.

Atiku made the announcement through a statement shared on his X account on Thursday, where he described his ambition as part of a national movement focused on restoring prosperity, unity, and hope in Nigeria. According to him, the submission of the forms at the party’s national secretariat represents a decisive move toward rebuilding the nation and addressing the challenges facing Nigerians.

The former presidential candidate called on citizens from different ethnic, religious, and regional backgrounds to support his vision for the country. He stressed the need for national unity and collective commitment in the quest to return Nigeria to a path of economic growth, ility, and progress.

A video shared alongside the post captured a charged atmosphere at the ADC national secretariat as party supporters and loyalists gathered in large numbers ahead of Atiku’s arrival. The scene reflected growing interest within the party as preparations begin for the 2027 presidential contest.

Political observers believe Atiku’s latest move could reshape the opposition landscape ahead of the elections, especially as parties begin early mobilization and coalition talks. His entry into the race is expected to spark renewed political debates and strategic alignments among key political stakeholders across Nigeria.
